Featuring Bob Mould
A constantly evolving guitarist, vocalist and songwriter, Bob Mould has been an influential musician over the past two decades. Originally, one of the leading frontmen for the rock band Husker Du, which was formed in the late 1970’s and gained wider audiences in the '80’s, Husker Du was kown for its underground punk rock vibe, and was one of the first underground bands to sign onto the major record label Warner Brothers.
After splitting with the band in the early 1990's, Mould went on to form Sugar. "Exploring new media for expression, Mould fell in love with dance and electronica music. Changing his name to LoudBomb, he released the album "The Last Dog And Pony Show," which had distinctly clear electronic roots. Mould took a break from the music industry in order to pursue a career in scriptwriting for professional wrestling, a longtime passion of his, and then returned to music. The public caught a greater glimpse of his work after making a remix of alternative band Interpol’s single “Length of Love,” giving Mould a greater standing in the dance music industry. He worked as a DJ performing solo acts as well as collaborations with others- including work with Richard Morel under the name Blowoff.
Mould is sure to grasp a wide audience with his infusion of alternative rock and electronica music on his new album, District Line, (February 5 on Anti Records).
Bob Mould will be back in town on Friday March 14, playing a full show at the Trocadero on Arch Street. His recently released DVD Circle Of Friends is available at the WXPN Amazon Music Store online.
