XPN Free At Noon Featuring James Maddock
Made Possible by Comcast and XPN Members
Back in 2000 James Maddock, lead singer of the now defunct band Wood, was all the rave. After Wood released its debut album Songs From Stanford Hill on Columbia Records, Maddock was thrown onto the path of success- or at least that's what most people thought. After "Songs From Stanford Hill" became an instant hit, receiving top triple A radio airplay and spots on popular tv drama's such as Dawson's Creek, Wood was playing shows with big acts Paula Cole and Train.
Ten years since his debut, Maddock made several attempts to get back into the music business without much success. Maddock's devotional love for music have pushed him to create a heartbreaking and beautiful debut solo album, "Sunrise on Avenue C." His songwriting style sounds timeless, as if it emerged from mixing the works of great songwriters past like Wainwright and Dylan.
Join us this Free at Noon to hear James Maddock's quiet confidence emanate from rugged vocals and beautifully intimate rock songs.
