XPN Free At Noon Featuring a Doubleheader Grant Lee Phillips AND Bob Schneider
Made Possible by Comcast and XPN Members
Double-heading with folk-rockster Bob Schneider, this will be one Free at Noon performance not to miss. Grant-Lee Phillips has filled three decades with critically acclaimed releases and more than enough fans to overflow his venues. He hit his stride with his famous '90s outfit, Grant-Lee Buffalo. After a Europe festival circuit tour, a string of diverse albums, and headlining with big names like REM, Smashing Pumpkins, and Pearl Jam, Grant-Lee Phillips embarked on a solo career. Phillips' latest offering, Little Moon, is brimming with lyrical wit, his distinctive vocals, and alt-folk balladry. Catch him with Winterpills on Saturday, November 21, for a full show at World Cafe Live.
From raunchy bar rock to soulful funk to punk/experimentalism, Austin's Bob Schneider is the very definition of a versatile songwriter. His eclectic mix of music has been gaining more and more public attention, especially in Austin's famed music circuit. With a guest appearance from Patty Griffin, Lovely Creatures, Schneider's eleventh solo release, is a collection of Americana-pop love songs. Currently touring across the continent, Schneider has stops scheduled in Baltimore, Denver, and Philly. Catch him at World Cafe Live, with One eskimO, on Thursday night 11/19.
