Brings the Flood, Case visited Washington, D.C.'s 9:30 Club

won the 2006 Pulitzer Prize for music for his piano concerto
"Chiavi in Mano," which was commissioned by the Boston Symphony.
Fred Child speaks with pianist Robert Levin, who played the
work's premiere performance.

April 27, 2006 — Since 1984, a group
called Saffire has used boogie-woogie rhythms, saucy lyrics and
quick-fire wit to bring back the long tradition of women in the
blues. Saffire -- The Uppity Blues Women perform at NPR's
Washington studios.

multi-instrumentalist from New York with a remarkable voice. For
his latest CD he performs many of the instruments and sings.
It's a brightly textured collection of jazzy pop tunes with
